My respected colleagues in our noble profession, I urge all Ghanaian teachers, both public and private school teachers, to boycott the upcoming 2026 BECE invigilation to avoid Nsawam Prison, police cells, handcuffs, and dismissal from your work.
This is because WAEC, as an examination body, does not have any respect for Ghanaian teachers. WAEC is not ready to protect any teacher, so teachers should advise themselves during any WAEC exams that come up.
During last year’s 2025 BECE and WASSCE, WAEC treated invigilators poorly and even prosecuted teachers, fining them huge amounts. Some teachers lost their jobs and were dismissed from GES and the government payroll. Up to date, some are still struggling for jobs and some are also in prison because they couldn’t afford the amounts the court told them to pay.
Teachers, let’s all come together and boycott the 2026 BECE invigilation and see if WAEC can conduct the exams without invigilators. Now WAEC and Education Watch have come together to discipline and disgrace any teacher who is caught in any examination malpractice. So teachers, let’s boycott it and protect our work and family as well.
There is no money in WAEC invigilation, so avoid it for peace’s sake. WAEC does not have good intentions for Ghanaian teachers. Let’s think wisely and protect our jobs. A word to the wise is enough. Thanks!
